HYROX Strasbourg 2026: Complete Race Guide (Winter 2026)

HYROX Strasbourg 2026 will be held at Parc Expo Strasbourg Wacken for its 2026 winter edition. Like all HYROX events, the format is identical: 8 km of running alternated with 8 functional stations (sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls). What changes here: the local climate, logistics, and atmosphere.

The venue: Parc Expo Strasbourg Wacken

Parc Expo Strasbourg Wacken is one of the leading exhibition and event venues in Strasbourg. For HYROX, the floor is covered with official HYROX carpet (compatible with flat shoes), regulated ambient temperature, separate changing rooms for men and women, on-site physiotherapists, visitor parking, and a recovery area with free massage for finishers.

Access and transport

To reach Parc Expo Strasbourg Wacken: tram E Wacken stop / Strasbourg train station 10 min by tram. If you are coming by Eurostar or TGV, allow 30 minutes for logistical check-in. If you are coming by plane, the nearest airport is listed above.

Course, weather and winter 2026 conditions

Winter edition — venue heating but cold changing rooms, plan layers. The race takes place indoors, so the weather has no direct impact on performance — however, it affects the heat inside the venue (little air conditioning in summer editions) and hydration strategy. Plan 1L of water + electrolytes in addition to what you would drink in your home gym.

Accommodation in Strasbourg

To optimize pre-race sleep, stay within 15 minutes max of the venue. Avoid large city center hotels if the race starts early (7:30-8:00 AM for the first waves). Opt for an Airbnb or chain hotel near the venue. Breakfast before 6 AM: look for a hotel with early breakfast included OR prepare your own breakfast in the room.

The local atmosphere

Cross-border Germany, bilingual FR/DE audience, European atmosphere. The day before, many finishers meet at check-in for briefing, to pick up their bib + finisher T-shirt (always provided at HYROX). Be there from check-in opening to avoid last-minute queues.

Specific preparation for this edition

Beyond the standard HYROX program (8-12 weeks of prep), adjust these variables for Strasbourg:

  • Thermal acclimatization: if it's a hot edition (Marseille, Madrid, Lisbon), train 2x/week in a hot room (closed changing room) to accustom the body
  • Pacing strategy: adapt the pace to the venue conditions (carpet vs hard floor, ceiling height for wall balls)
  • Team Doubles cohesion (if format chosen): at least 2 Doubles sessions to practice relay transitions

Categories available in Strasbourg

As everywhere, Open categories (lighter loads), Pro (full loads), Doubles (2 alternating athletes), and Relay (4 athletes) are offered. Check hyrox.com/france for available spots: popular editions fill up in 2-4 weeks after registrations open.
