HYROX Rennes 2026: Complete Race Guide (Fall 2026)

HYROX Rennes 2026 will be held at Parc Expo Rennes Aéroport for its autumn 2026 edition. Like all HYROX events, the format is identical: 8 km of running alternated with 8 functional stations (sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls). What changes here: the local climate, logistics, and atmosphere.

The Venue: Parc Expo Rennes Aéroport

Parc Expo Rennes Aéroport is one of Rennes' leading exhibition and event sites. For HYROX, the floor is covered with an official HYROX carpet (compatible with flat shoes), regulated ambient temperature, separate male/female changing rooms, on-site physiotherapists, visitor parking, and a recovery area with free massage for finishers.

Access and Transport

To reach Parc Expo Rennes Aéroport: take line C, stop Parc Expo / Rennes-Saint-Jacques airport 5 min. If you're coming by Eurostar or TGV, allow 30 min extra for check-in logistics. If you're coming by plane, the closest airport is mentioned above.

Course, Weather, and Autumn 2026 Conditions

Small edition, very accessible for beginners. The race takes place indoors, so the weather does not directly impact performance — however, it affects the heat in the venue (little air conditioning in summer editions) and hydration strategy. Plan for 1L of water + electrolytes in addition to what you would drink at your home gym.

Accommodation in Rennes

To optimize pre-race sleep, stay within a maximum of 15 minutes from the venue. Avoid large city-centre hotels if the race starts early (7:30-8 am for the first waves). Opt for an Airbnb or chain hotel near the venue. Breakfast before 6 am: look for a hotel with early breakfast included OR prepare your own breakfast in the room.

Local Atmosphere

The Breton HYROX community has been booming since 2024. The day before the race, many finishers gather at check-in for a briefing, to pick up their bib + finisher T-shirt (always provided in HYROX). Be there as soon as check-in opens to avoid last-minute queues.

Specific Preparation for This Edition

Beyond the standard HYROX program (8-12 weeks of prep), adjust these variables for Rennes:

  • Thermal acclimatization: if it's a hot edition (Marseille, Madrid, Lisbon), train 2x/week in a warm room (closed changing room) to get your body used to it
  • Pacing strategy: adapt the pace to the venue conditions (carpet vs hard floor, ceiling height for wall balls)
  • Doubles team cohesion (if chosen format): at least 2 Doubles sessions to practice relay transitions

Categories Available in Rennes

As everywhere, Open (lighter weights), Pro (full weights), Doubles (2 alternating athletes), and Relay (4 athletes) categories are offered. Check hyrox.com/france for available spots: popular editions sell out in 2-4 weeks after registrations open.
